Privacy policy

This policy describes what this website actually does with your information. It covers the contact and quotation form, the stone advisor, the rate limiting that protects both, and website analytics. It does not describe practices we do not have.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to this website and to the two features on it that receive information from you: the contact and quotation form, and the stone advisor. It does not cover correspondence you begin yourself by phone, email or WhatsApp, which is ordinary business communication, and it does not cover anything that happens on third-party websites we link to.

The contact and quotation form

The form sends the fields below to us by email so that we can reply. Name and phone number are required, because without them there is no way to respond; everything else is optional and reaches us only if you fill it in. There is also a hidden field that real visitors never see, used to discard automated submissions. If you give an email address, a copy of your own submission is sent back to you as an acknowledgement.

  • Name and phone number — required, so that we can reply
  • Email address, company name, project type and your message — optional
  • Quotation fields when you open that part of the form: stone type, dimensions and thickness, finish, quantity, destination port or city, Incoterms rule and timeline
  • The language version of the site you submitted from, so that the reply comes back in the right language

The stone advisor

The advisor is powered by a language model provided by Anthropic. When you send a message, the recent conversation is transmitted to Anthropic to generate the reply, along with a list of the guide pages on this site so that the answer can only cite pages that exist. There is no account and no sign-in, we do not attach your identity to a conversation, and the conversation is not stored on this site once you close it. Treat it as the external service it is and do not paste confidential project information into it.

IP addresses and rate limiting

Both the form and the advisor apply a simple per-address limit so that a single source cannot flood them. To do that, the server holds recent request timestamps against the requesting IP address in memory for a short rolling window measured in seconds, then discards them once the window has passed. There is no database behind this, we write nothing to disk, and it is never used to build a profile of you.

Website analytics

This site can run Google Analytics 4, which measures aggregate traffic — pages viewed, referring source, approximate location, device type — using cookies and its own identifiers. It loads only when a measurement ID has been configured for the deployment you are visiting, so on some environments no analytics script is served at all. Where it does load, IP anonymisation is switched on. Your browser cookie controls and Google's own opt-out mechanisms both apply.

Third parties we actually use

These are the external services that can receive data as a result of your using this site. Each one processes it for the purpose listed, under its own terms and privacy policy.

  • Resend — delivers the form notification to our inbox and the acknowledgement copy to you
  • Anthropic — processes stone advisor messages in order to generate each reply
  • Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic measurement, and only when a measurement ID is configured
  • Our hosting and content delivery provider — serves the pages and keeps the usual server request logs

How long things are kept

Form submissions arrive as email and remain in our business inbox as ordinary correspondence for as long as the enquiry or the commercial relationship requires, subject to the record-keeping any transaction involves. Rate-limiting timestamps disappear within seconds. Advisor conversations are not retained on this site. Analytics data is held by Google under the retention setting on the property.

Your requests

You can ask what we hold from your enquiry, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to the email address below from the address you used, or call, and say what you would like done; we will act on it and tell you what was done. If you would rather not send information through the form at all, phone or email us directly — the form is a convenience, not a requirement.

Changes, and what this policy is not

This page describes current practice, and when the practice changes the page changes with it. We are not claiming certification under any particular data protection regime and we have not appointed a data protection officer. What we are doing is telling you plainly which data this site handles, why, and who else sees it. If something here is unclear or looks wrong, tell us and we will fix either the wording or the practice.

Data requests and questions

Use any of these to ask about, correct or delete information from an enquiry, or to ask a question about this policy.
